Vespucci Beach, known as a tranquil community along the shores of Los Santos, was rocked this week by two dramatic acts of violence that left residents alarmed and authorities overwhelmed.

The chaos in Vespucci began Tuesday evening at the BurgerShot location on Vespucci Blvd, when a promotional deal offering 80% all menu items brought an influx of hungry customers flooding the understaffed restaurant.

As patrons crammed into booths and lines overflowed out the door, tensions grew as the skeleton crew struggled to fulfill the endless orders. The scene descended into further pandemonium when the drink machines ran out of ice.

"People were waiting over an hour just to get cold sodas,"

said employee Tina Alvarez.

"They started tossing empty cups and getting in my face screaming."

Security guards that were hired by Burgershot Corporate before the event were overwhelmed trying to restrain the increasingly frustrated mob.

When a manager announced the kitchen was completely over capacity and orders would be delayed indefinitely, the riot ensued. According to eyewitness reports, the hangry mob sprang into action, overturning booths and tables, smashing windows, vandalizing bathrooms, and raiding the registers for cash.

Employees described sheltering in the kitchen in terror as bottles flew through the air "like missiles" according to fry cook Rafael. Another employee captured the anarchy on cell phone video that quickly went viral online, drawing shocked reactions.

"It was total anarchy. People were behaving like animals - whatever restraint they had just vanished with the chance to save a few bucks,"

said patron Damien, who suffered cuts from shattering glass.

"Managers were screaming at us to leave but folks were too crazed, they wanted those burgers no matter what."

Multiple injuries were reported in the frenzy as even more terrified employees retreated to barricade themselves in the kitchen while police raced to the scene.

"I was afraid I might not make it out alive - the crowd was completely unhinged,"

said manager Selena through tears.

First responders arriving on scene could barely push their way through the sea of bodies to treat the injured.

"I've never witnessed anything like the swarming chaos and violence, all over some BurgerShot discount,"

said EMT Chang, who treated a half dozen patients with cuts from shattered glass.

Authorities also described it as a scene of total pandemonium, with ketchup strewn about and shattered glass crunching under their feet. After assessing the hazards, they had no choice but to close the ravaged BurgerShot location indefinitely until repairs can be made and corporate addresses the dangerous mania induced by its irresponsible promotion.

In a statement put out to media agencies, Burgershot Corporate said,

"We are deeply disturbed by the events that transpired at our Vespucci location during what was intended as a fun customer appreciation promotion. Unfortunately the turnout far exceeded this restaurant's capacity to handle demand, leading to much regretted acts of violence and property damage as frustrations boiled over.
While we strive to excite customers with compelling deals, we never anticipated or condoned this dangerous mob behavior. BurgerShot does not tolerate violence or illegal acts in our restaurants. We are cooperating fully with authorities in the investigation and hope to reopen the damaged location soon.
Our commitment remains providing San Andreas with delicious burgers and dining experiences in a safe, family-friendly environment. We are reviewing policies around promotions and staffing to ensure a similar disturbance does not occur again."

In the end, over $10,000 in property damage was inflicted.

"I boarded up every window to keep people from breaking back in - the animals were still circling looking for their cheap burgers,"

said maintenance worker Boyd.

Corporate statements also promised a review of promotional policies and security, but long-time residents say lasting damage has been done. The neighbourhood has been left traumatized after witnessing the descent into mob rule over something as trivial as discounted fast food.

"We thought we knew our neighbors, but give them a coupon and they unleash their inner demons - I don't feel safe here anymore,"

said local business owner Hayes.

For now, an ominous quiet has settled on the shuttered BurgerShot, leaving the community to wonder if such unbridled violence could erupt again.
